A young carer is someone under 18 who provides unpaid care for a friend or family member who due to illness, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction cannot cope without their support.

We know that in Wales some schools, colleges and carers services have started using different types of ID cards to help people like teachers, pharmacists and doctors to understand that they are carers and that they give them the information and support that they need. In some areas these cards have given carers discounts in leisure centres and on public transport.

We wanted to know what young carers thought about ID cards to help Welsh Government decide whether or not to introduce a national ID card scheme.

We'd like to extend our thanks to everyone who shared their experiences and thoughts.
