Carers Trust Interns
In 2021, Carers Trust developed an Internship Programme in consultation with young adult carers who told us that they needed more opportunities for paid employment to help them start their careers. During our year long pilot, 13 young adult carers across the UK have been employed for 12 weeks in a range of different paid roles; including Policy & External Affairs, Fundraising, Grants & Programmes, Communications, and Young & Young Adult Carers. Since completing their internships, our Interns have gone on to secure employment and freelance work, continued with their education, and started volunteering with other charities.
The Internship Programme ran from Autumn 2021 to Autumn 2022, and is currently on hiatus as we review the learning from the pilot.
