About the Programme

In 2021, we launched our ambitious programme Young Carers Futures, a UK wide programme focused on delivering interventions at critical transition points and improving access to employment and training opportunities for young adult carers.

Working alongside employer and stakeholders from across education and training we aim to deliver a step-change in tailored support to young adult carers, unlocking potential and improving life chances.

Career Development

Through our partnerships we offer a range of employability workshops to young and young adult carers across our network to help equip them with the crucial knowledge and tools to navigate the employment landscape. This includes interview and CV support, skills training, one-to-one support, mentoring, and more.

Career Insight Days

Our partners have offered insight days where young carers have the opportunity to experience work cultures, learn about the various roles within an organisation, shadow employees, make valuable contacts and try their hands at new skills.

Job Opportunities

To combat some of the typical barriers that young carers face in accessing employment, we work with our partners to provide carer-friendly job opportunities and support the young carers through the process. Visit our opportunities page to find out more.

Engagement & Involvement

The voices, input and involvement of young carers is central to all of the work we do. We offer a range of internal and external opportunities for young carers to take part in campaigns and advocacy, PR and media opportunities, fundraising and much more.
