Help us promote Carers Trust’s Young Carers Survey!

CymraegEnglish

Carers Trust is conducting a survey on the pressures and challenges facing young carers and young adult carers right across the UK.

The survey will be live until end January 2022 when we will collect the data for analysis so it is ready for release to coincide with Young Carers Action Day on 16 March 2022.

The survey is for young carers aged 12 to 17, and young adult carers aged 18 to 25.

By taking part in the survey, young carers and young adult carers will have the option to be entered into a prize draw for a £25 wellbeing gift box.

Survey rationale

It is important we’re able to provide updated evidence on the pressures and challenges experienced by young people as a result of their caring role, as well as the ongoing impact of coronavirus.

Results from our last survey in July 2020 attracted widespread media attention, including ITV News and Channel 4 News, and remains the only body of UK wide evidence to date on the impact of coronavirus on young carers.

We expect to attract similar media attention for the results of this survey which will help us influence decision makers at both national and local levels.

Survey aims and objectives

The survey will provide:

  • Accurate current information about what support young carers and young adult carers would most value.
  • An evidence base for a strategic response from Carers Trust.
  • The basis for a policy briefing to be distributed to influence policy makers in England, Scotland and Wales to provide the support that young carers and young adult carers actually need.
  • Key findings to be publicised in national and regional media as well as media focusing on children and young people issues.

The survey is live and can be found here.
