Impact of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 in relation to Carers

The Health, Social Care and Sport Committee is conducting an inquiry into the Impact of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 in relation to Carers.

We submitted written evidence to the committee and will be giving oral evidence to the committee alongside Gareth Howells, the director of our Network Partner Carers Trust South East Wales and chair of the Wales Advisory Board, this Autumn.


Physical activity and young people

The Assembly’s Health Committee has undertaken an inquiry into the physical activity of young people.

As part of this inquiry, we worked with members of our National Young Adult Carers Council to provide written evidence to the committee about the types of barriers young carers face to accessing opportunities for leisure and exercise.

The Committee is due to issue its report this autumn.
 

The cost of caring for an ageing population

The Assembly’s Finance Committee has undertaken an inquiry into the cost of caring for an ageing population.

As part of this inquiry, Carers Trust Wales submitted the following written evidence and gave oral evidence to the committee, which you can view online or read a transcript of.

The committee have now drafted their report, which includes a range of recommendations for Welsh Government.
