Fundraising initiatives during COVID-19

Fundraising partners old and new have been rising to the challenges of COVID-19 with a variety of innovative ways to support carers.

National Garden Scheme

Carers Trust’s oldest partner National Garden Scheme has launched virtual garden visits as well as garden meditations.

Fashion brand RIXO is raising funds for Carers Trust through the sale of its pink Stay at Home t-shirt.

United Together

Graham Leslie wrote a song, United Together, to help support the carers who are now even more isolated, to remind them that we are all in this together and they haven't been forgotten. So far the song has raised over £6,000!

The Rank Group

Carers Trust partner The Rank Group has donated its football sponsorship benefits of Ispwich FC for 20/21, which includes the logo being featured on the shirt, as well as tickets to games being donated for local carers to attend games.

Rank employees have also taken part in a number of fundraising initiatives: from a group virtual walk from Land’s End to John O’Groats through to individual challenges such as marathon distance runs in the backyard!

Alpha Club

Carers Trust was delighted to be selected as the charity partner for the Alpha Club. The Alpha Club launched an online auction of ‘money-can’t-buy’ events and gifts. This event has now raised over £41,000, a truly incredible result!

Renowned Glasgow DJs GBX (aka George Bowie) and Sparkos released a charity single in aid of Carers Trust Scotland and NHS Glasgow and Greater Clyde. George’s wife is herself an unpaid carer and felt it was important that unpaid carers were recognised as front line workers too! The single reached number 2 in the UK iTunes chart and has raised valuable funds to support carers in this difficult time.

Gruffydd Wyn

Britain’s Got Talent star Gruffydd Wyn is donating all the proceeds from his latest single Bring him Home from Les Miserables, to Carers Trust Wales. You can download it from iTunes or Spotify.

And a big thank you to all the major donors who have donated significant gifts towards our Emergency Appeal. And to all the individuals running marathons, donating the cost of a drink, writing recipes books and coming up with creative and lockdown friendly ways to raise money to support unpaid carers.

We are so grateful for your support!
