The Scottish Young Carers Festival takes place every year and provides a chance for young carers to have a break from their caring role, meet other young carers, take part in consultation and most importantly, have fun.

The 2018 Scottish Young Carers Festivals - Festival on the Road

The 11th Scottish Young Carers Festival took place on two separate summer dates in two different locations in 2018.

The first event took place in Badaguish, Aviemore, with around 100 young carers from north and north-east Scotland in attendance.

The second took place at Fordell Firs, Fife, where 170 young carers from the central belt attended.

Young carers participated in activities including circus skills, climbing, virtual reality experiences, creating artwork, using low ropes and caving, as well as meeting MSPs and other policy-makers on the second day of each Festival.

Funded by the Scottish Government, the Festival is coordinated by Carers Trust Scotland and the Scottish Young Carers Services Alliance.
