The Triangle of Care describes a therapeutic relationship between the person with dementia (patient), staff member and carer that promotes safety, supports communication and sustains wellbeing. This guide is aimed at acute hospital wards and services where a person with dementia may be admitted but their dementia is not the reason for their admission.

Following consultation, Carers Trust has developed the Triangle of Care for Young and Young Adult Carers, A Guide for Mental Health Professionals as a supplementary guide to sit alongside the Triangle of Care. The Triangle of Care describes a therapeutic relationship between the patient, staff member and carer that promotes safety, supports communication and sustains wellbeing.
Improving Health Outcomes for Older and Young Adult Carers
In 2011, Carers Trust was selected by People’s Health Trust to coordinate the delivery of health related projects managed by Carers Trust Network Partners across England, Scotland and Wales. Resources To Help GPs Identify Older Carers
Carers Trust Wales have launched a new series of resources, to help GP and primary care staff to identify and support older carers.

The Going Further, Going Higher project worked with four Carers Trust Network Partners across England to empower young adult carers with the skills and confidence to approach their colleges and universities to ask for recognition and support. This resource provides top tips when training young adult carer ambassadors and engaging with education providers.
Going Higher: A Guide for Carers to Universities in Wales
This publication has been developed by Carers Trust Wales in partnership with all Reaching Wider partnerships, universities in Wales and UCAS. It will be the first of its kind to offer holistic information about the support available to carers applying to university, before admission and during their time in higher education.
Support not Sympathy
The results of a Carers Trust Wales survey into the impact of Coronavirus on young carers aged 12 to 17 and young adult carers aged 18 to 25 was published in July 2020. They point to a steep decline in the mental health and wellbeing of thousands of young people across Wales who provide unpaid care at home for family members or friends.
