Following consultation, Carers Trust has developed the Triangle of Care for Young and Young Adult Carers, A Guide for Mental Health Professionals as a supplementary guide to sit alongside the Triangle of Care. The Triangle of Care describes a therapeutic relationship between the patient, staff member and carer that promotes safety, supports communication and sustains wellbeing.
The Triangle of Care Toolkit – A Resource for Mental Health Service Providers Introduction
This resource is designed for services implementing the Triangle of Care, it is based on what has worked and what has prevented successful implementation in other organisations. It includes guidance, tips and good practice to guide professionals and carers. The Triangle of Care describes a therapeutic relationship between the patient, staff member and carer that promotes safety, supports communication and sustains wellbeing.
Engaging with Pharmacies
Pharmacies are visited by about 1.6 million people every day in England so they are ideally positioned to identify carers of all all ages including young carers. They can therefore play a key role in the early initiation of assessment and support which can be life changing. This toolkit is aimed at young carer services to support them to work collaboratively with pharmacies. It draws on the Young Carers Pharmacy Project that took place between 2014 and 2016.

Resources To Help GPs Identify Older Carers
Carers Trust Wales have launched a new series of resources, to help GP and primary care staff to identify and support older carers.
The resources consist of a leaflet, a contact card, and a poster, all of which are available both digitally and as printable resources.
Young Carers in Education A Resource on Identifying and Supporting Young Carers in Education
Carers Trust Scotland's Young Carers in Education Toolkit accompanies our Digital Education Hub for all staff in Scotland working with young carers in schools.
Going Higher: A Guide for Carers to Universities in Wales
This publication has been developed by Carers Trust Wales in partnership with all Reaching Wider partnerships, universities in Wales and UCAS. It will be the first of its kind to offer holistic information about the support available to carers applying to university, before admission and during their time in higher education.
Young Carers in Schools Guidance for Schools COVID-19 Recovery and Staff Briefing
This Young Carers in Schools resource helps school staff understand the challenges that young carers are experiencing during the COVID-19 crisis and offers practical guidance on how to support young carers. It is a pack which also includes a Staff Briefing for schools and a Top Tips written by young carers.
Supporting Students with Caring Responsibilities in Further Education in Wales
A Wales-specific, user-friendly resource, this toolkit was developed in partnership with Learning and Work Institute to increase awareness of student carers and their specific needs, promote existing good practice from colleges and carers services and offering expert recommendations.
Caring About Older Carers
This toolkit is targeted at commissioners of health and social care in England and aims to highlight the needs of carers aged over 60 and to show tried and tested ways they can be supported.
