The Triangle of Care membership scheme was developed by Carers Trust and is aimed at mental health providers. The Triangle of Care describes a therapeutic relationship between the patient, staff member and carer that promotes safety, supports communication and sustains wellbeing.
About Time Grant Evaluations
These independent evaluations review the successful delivery of the two About Time Grant programmes, Time for Change and Take Action and Support, which addressed the issues that can lead to young adult carers becoming disengaged from society.
A Road Less Rocky – Supporting Carers of People with Dementia
This report found that carers of people with dementia are not getting the support and advice they often desperately need. The report also highlights key points where professionals and services can and should ensure carers are receiving the necessary information, advice and support.
Working for Carers 2019-2022 Evaluation Report 2
This interim report shares learning and recommendations from the evaluation of the Working for Carers project. Working for Carers supports unpaid carers and former carers, aged 25 and over and living in London, to move closer to employment.
No Longer Able to Care
This report highlights how older parent carers and ageing carers who face additional barriers to accessing services should be supported to prepare for a time when they are less able or unable to provide care. The report is accompanied by resources for commissioners, providers and front line staff to use in the development of support for carers to plan for a future when they are less able or unable to care.
Working for Carers Evaluation Report: 2016–2019
Working for Carers is led by Carers Trust and delivered by its network of partners (local carer organisations) across London. Working for Carers is funded by the European Social Fund and The National Lottery Community Fund. The first phase of the project ran from October 2016 and September 2019 and was evaluated by Ecorys.
Identification Practice of Young Carers in England – Review, Tips and Tools
This resource is primarily aimed to be a guide for local government. The Children and Families Act 2014 places a duty on local authorities to take ‘reasonable steps’ to identify young carers in their area who have support needs. This resource sets out these duties and shows how local government can work with education, health and social care partners to take the steps necessary to increase identification of young carers.
Identification of Carers in GP Practices
One of the main obstacles to carers getting the right support is identification – both self-identification and identification by health professionals. This document highlights some of the good practice that has been developed by Carers Trust Network Partners. We hope it will encourage GP practices to look at the ways they identify carers, and enable carers to get the support they need.
Time to be Heard: A Call for Support for Young Adult Carers
Young adult carers are disadvantaged in their education, employment and wellbeing. These reports present evidence on the impact of caring unpaid for a family member or friend on the lives of young adult carers, using research carried out by the University of Nottingham. It represents the first large-scale survey of young adult carers aged 14-25. Reports cover England, Scotland and Wales.
Husband, Partner, Dad, Son, Carer?
Carers Trust and the Men's Health Forum carried out research to find out more about the experiences and needs of male carers and to help raise awareness of the fact that male carers may not be getting the support they need.
