Experiences of Unpaid Carers caring for someone with Dementia
Carers Trust Wales’ report, ‘Experiences of unpaid carers caring for someone with dementia’, draws on the contextually rich narratives of carers of people living with dementia. Individual interviews were conducted during the pandemic.
In responding to the key emerging themes of carer recognition and the changing caring relationship, it recommends flexible, agile support and a better partnership approach between carers and statutory services.
The findings will contribute to developing resources to raise awareness amongst policy and decision makers regarding unmet need for support for people who care for someone living with dementia and other long term health conditions.
