Nestled in the idyllic Cornish countryside, the 100-acre Hustyns estate comes complete with sauna, steam room, a fully-equipped gym, swimming pool, crazy golf and luxury hotel rooms, all of which were made available to the carers and families for some much needed rest and pampering.
Caring for a loved one can have a toll on carers' mental health and wellbeing: those providing more than 50 hours of care per week are twice as likely to report ill-health as those not providing care.
By giving carers the opportunity to go on a luxury holiday weekend, CLC World was able to make all the difference to carers and their families.
The carers who attended were registered with local Carers Trust Network Partner Carers Support Centre Bristol and South Gloucestershire.
Mr. Hussain, a carer for his brother, and one of the guests, said:
"It was a great opportunity for me to recharge my batteries and have some down time. The resort was lovely and the staff there were very welcoming. As I care for my brother I rarely get any opportunity for a weekend break let alone a holiday."
Mr. Hussain, who's a father of two, visited with his family and he relished the opportunity to spend some quality time with them:
"I appreciate any down time I get as it comes very rarely. I'm also on 24 hour call out and this prevents me from going away for more than one night as I'm often needed."
"Carers Trust shows me that there are people out there that care about the help and support we provide. I feel part of a larger family of people who are going through the same experiences as me. Carers Trust to me means I'm no longer alone."
The CLC World Hustyns resort welcomed a total of 23 guests, made up of beneficiaries of Carers Trust and a local organisation, Trelya Charity, along with their guests. CLC World will continue working with Carers Trust to support more carers to take vital breaks.
Plus, we're delighted to confirm that CLC World's UK resorts will also be supporting Britain's Best Breakfast, Carers Trust's national fundraising campaign which takes place from 10-16 October.
