Activities for carers in Northern Ireland

Our FREE programme of events is very informal and available to adult carers of people living in the Southern Health and Social Care Trust area.  

Places are limited due to social distancing, and social distancing and other COVID-19 restrictions will apply.

Cara (friendship) Café for Carers

Carers can enjoy a variety of health and wellbeing workshops and nature-based activities such as mindfulness, gardening and flower arranging.

Tea/coffee (or other refreshment) will be followed by a group activity. The programme will be part-led by the team from Crisis Cafe CIC who are experienced mental health practitioners.

  • Starts 7 October, running for weekly for eight weeks, 11am – 1pm.

Carers Walking Groups

Walking is a great way to improve your health, make new friends and explore your local surroundings. So why not join us for a walk in any of the following locations.

These walk are organised by Carers Trust Northern Ireland. Please wear comfortable footwear and dress to suit the weather.  Please bring your own water with you.

There is no limit, you can walk as much or as little to suit yourself. We look forward to the chance to meet each other in open outdoor spaces.

Free Health and Wellbeing Activity Packs

Thanks to Southern Age Well Network we have a limited amount of free Health and Wellbeing Activity Packs  to distribute to carers during the pandemic.

The packs are full of activities to immerse yourself in which can  help you forget your troubles for a while. They also contain local information about Covid-19 support and contacts that may be of use to carers.
