Information about finding a dentist near you, getting help with the cost of dental treatment and how to help the person you care for to look after their teeth.

How to find a dentist

Find a dentist near you on NHS Choices. You could also speak to family and friends for their recommendations.

Get help with the cost of dental treatment

You, or the person you care for, may also be able to get help with health costs including NHS dental treatment.  In some cases your treatment might be free but it depends where you live, your age, and your income.

Helping the person you care for to look after their teeth

It is very important that the person you care for regularly visits the dentist.

You can find key tips for carers on teeth.tlc.  This includes help if the person you care for has their own teeth, or if they have false or no teeth.

If you care for someone with dementia

The Alzheimer’s Society offers advice about dental care and oral health, the different sort of dental problems people with dementia may experience, and how best to help them.

Looking after children's teeth

Childsmile has lots of information for carers about looking after children's teeth.
