As part of this year’s Children in Need, BBC1’s The One Show has recreated its Rickshaw Challenge  - with a difference!

Last year presenter Matt Barker completed the gruelling cycle ride from Edinburgh to London, but the challenge has been turned on its head for 2012, as six young people have taken on the challenge to help raise vital funds for disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.

Among the six is James, who is supported by Crossroads Care West Kent, a Network Partner of Carers Trust.

Eighteen-year-old James has been a young carer for his mother, brother and sister since he was very young. When he isn’t at college, James runs the household and looks after his family. Find out more about James and the support he receives from Crossroads Care West Kent on the Children in Need website.

Together with his five fellow cyclists, James has pedalled from Llandudno to London, completing the marathon 411 mile journey in eight days.

The team will feature on tonight’s The One Show broadcast as they arrive at their final destination – BBC’s Television Centre - so do tune in to celebrate James’ success. Find out more about the Rickshaw Challenge.
