Homecare is already chronically under-funded. UKHCA estimates that unless something is done now, there will be a £753m shortfall in the year from April 2016 alone. As a consequence, some homecare provides may no longer be able to provide state-funded care and others may leave the market altogether.
Without homecare services older and disabled people may not get the help that they need – putting further pressure on family carers and the already stretched NHS.
The Save Our Homecare e-petition is a way of enabling people right across the UK, including those not directly involved in the sector, to demonstrate the importance they place on homecare and the positive difference it makes to the lives of people who use services and their families.
The petition needs as many signatures as possible, as quickly as possible, ahead of the Spending Review in November. Sign the petition now.
