This year’s winner of the Queen’s University Science Shop Award is postgraduate student Alison Toogood who is studying Childhood Adversity in the School of Psychology.

She worked with Newry and Mourne Young Carers group to help young people caring for their family members feel more in control of their situation. Her research made recommendations about the kinds of support that the group might provide to help young carers develop coping skills. She has recently been accepted to undertake her PhD in Computer Sciences in the University.
