Carers Trust in Northern Ireland has launched what it describes as an "Election wish list" ahead of the forthcoming Westminster Elections. Commenting on the list NI Development Manager Sean Caughey said:

"Many issues that are current have massive implications for carers in Northern Ireland. Agreement to Welfare reform proposals (the bedroom tax specifically), the Compton Report and hospital waiting lists to name but a few means that the lot of the carer is becoming increasingly complex and pressured. The publishing of such a wish list should be a timely reminder to potential election candidates of the importance of carers in our society and the need to address their issues. I would call on all carers to get a copy of this list and have real and meaningful on the doorstop discussions with canvassers."
