The Mind The Gap Programme in Northern Ireland which has been funded bythe Big Lottery Reaching Out Supporting Older Peoples Programme is all about partnership working for the good of our more senior carers in Northern Ireland who are not currently in receipt of support services.

It is fantastic therefiore to see this come to fruition thanks to the efforts of Boots who are a partner member.

There efforts have resulted in them securing two prime venues in Belfast for Mind the Gap staff and supporters working along with Boots Pharmacists and Beauticians.

It is intended that two awareness raising days for carers will be hosted at the centres offering carers the opportunity to have health checks and pampering sessions while at the same time being able to talk to support staff and gather information from Carers Trust around carers issues and what support is available. Information will also be available from other partners in relation to specific illnesses. A wide range of groups have supported the events and the Belfast Carers Coordinators and Belfast Carers Centre staff will be there to deal with any enquiries you might have - so come along, take a break from caring,  indukge yourself and pick up some very valuable information

Dates for the event are:

18th September 2014 Kennedy Centre Belfast

26th September 2014 Connswater Centre Belfast

It is estimated that both events will run daily from 10.00 to 17.00

It is hoped to run a further series of events throughout Northern Ireland in the future subject to demand.
