Carers Trust Wales are recruiting volunteers from a variety of backgrounds and industries to mentor our local Network Partners.

Carers Trust Wales is part of Carers Trust, a major new charity for, with and about carers. We work to improve support, services and recognition for anyone living with the challenges of caring, unpaid, for a family member or friend who is ill, frail, disabled or has mental health or addiction problems.

With locally based Network Partners we are able to support carers in their homes through the provision of replacement care, and in the community with information, advice, emotional support, hands on practical help and access to much needed breaks. We offer specialist services for carers of people of all ages and conditions and a range of individually tailored support and group activities.

What’s involved?

Mentors will support local leaders and their teams to:

  • Focus on building sustainable organizations, which generate surplus for charitable use;
  • Support the delivery of seamless integrated services across Wales that focus on the best outcomes for carers and those they care for;
  • Align national and local strategies to support the push for growth in services and therefore improved outcomes for carers; and
  • Encourage and support the development of partnership working between network partners.

All mentors will be briefed and supported throughout the process and guidance around mentoring techniques and skills will be provided.

Carers Trust Wales are seeking mentors who can bring a different perspective and new ideas about leadership and management of organisations and the development of services.

We are looking for senior leaders, experienced professional leaders and managers who can commit time across a 12 month period. You and the organisation will get the best out of the experience if you are able to volunteer and commit to 12 days across a 12 month period to support this programme.

Where?

We are looking for volunteer mentors to match with Network Partners across Wales.

When?

Our next programme is due to start in the Autumn.

However, we run a rolling recruitment Programme and welcome applications throughout the year.
