Rank Colleagues saddle up for inspiring 315-mile London–Paris Ride, raising over £12,000

Six determined colleagues from The Rank Group Plc have pedalled their way from London to Paris, conquering more than 315 miles over four gruelling days to raise vital funds for unpaid carers.
The Rank Group Plc (‘Rank’) has raised more than £400,000 for unpaid carers in just one year as part of its partnership with national charity Carers Trust – surpassing its fundraising target of £351,000 for the period July 2024 to June 2025.
Their efforts have secured over £12,000 for national charity Carers Trust and its network of local carer organisations, which help support the six million people in the UK who care for friends and family with an illness, disability or addiction.
Setting off from central London on 10th September, the riders faced an 86-mile opening day across the rolling Kent countryside before crossing the Channel at Dover. From there, they powered through the French landscape, finishing triumphantly under the Eiffel Tower after a ceremonial lap around the Arc de Triomphe.
The riders include Chief Financial Officer, Richard Harris , Grosvenor Casinos Regional Director, Alex Saul and Gavin Lee, Receptionist at the Grosvenor Riverboat Casino, Mark Guthrie, Casino Manager, Grosvenor Dundee, Max Brigato, and Rewards Executive, Sheffield Support Office, Jake Royles.
Mark said: “Having had my own experience as an unpaid carer I was only too happy to be able to take on the challenge to raise funds for the army of unpaid hero carers out there.”
Max added: “I took on the challenge to raise money for an amazing cause. I am surrounded by people who care for others, and I see how difficult it is for them. I feel absolutely amazing, and I am so proud to say I have completed the London to Paris cycle challenge.”
The £12,000 raised will boost the Rank Cares grants programme. The programme funds the Carers Essentials Fund which helps carers afford vital household items such as washing machines, cookers, and beds, the Carers Take Time Out Fund which provides well-earned breaks, activities, or short holidays to recharge and the Carers Skills Fund which enables carers to learn new skills to support their caring role or re-enter employment.
Around two-thirds of carers have had to cut back on working hours or give up their jobs completely because of their caring responsibilities. This has put them under huge pressure as the cost of living has soared, pushing many into poverty.
