The weekend of 2 and 3 June 2018 was the National Garden Scheme’s Festival Weekend and in aid of this, Carers Trust held a Garden Adventure Challenge with some amazing prizes to be won.

The National Garden Scheme (NGS) is Carers Trust’s longest standing donor and to date we have received over £3m to help support unpaid carers.

In celebration of the National Garden Scheme annual Festival Weekend on 2–3 June 2018, Carers Trust held the National Garden Scheme Garden Adventure Challenge for all our supporters, partners, staff and volunteers!

Our competition challenged participants to visit as many gardens as they could in one day, or, tweet about their visit to a National Garden Scheme garden over the Festival Weekend.

This year our prizes ranged from concert tickets worth over £100, to garden centre vouchers courtesy of Squires Garden Centres, to a signed book by The Great British Bake Off finalist, Miranda Gore Browne!

Thank you to everyone who took part in the competition, we loved looking through all your tweets and photographs of what looked like some lovely days out! All the funds raised at every garden visited will go towards helping nursing and caring charities in the UK, including Carers Trust.National Garden Scheme garden. Credit: Caroline Daniels

We want to say a huge congratulations to our two winners, Grant Hallworth and Caroline Daniels. Pictured is Caroline's shot of a beautiful shady spot she found at an open garden in Waltham Abbey.

Man dressed as scarecrowA special shout out to Grant (pictured) as he spent his entire day in fancy dress and talked to over 70 people at the garden about Carers Trust and the work we do for  carers. On top of this he also did his own fundraiser and raised nearly £200 for dressing as a scarecrow all day!
