Carers Trust is the largest UK wide charity for the nation’s 7 million unpaid carers. Together with our Network Partners, we provide support, information, advice and services for children, young people and adults caring, unpaid, for a family member or friend.  The number of carers is a growing issue, with 3 in 5 of us likely to become a carer at some point in our lifetime. Carers save the UK economy over £119bn every year and act as a main support to our stretched health and social care systems.

We are currently looking for a Compliance Officer for our Working for Carers project. Working for Carers supports carers and former carers across London to find, or move closer to, employment. Support is tailored to meet individual carers’ needs but may include one-to-one support with an advisor, and access to a range of training and volunteering opportunities. The project is led by Carers Trust and delivered in partnership with four Network Partners (carers services) working across all London boroughs.

The successful candidate will have experience of preparing records for audit, ensuring that finance claims and project activity meet compliance requirements. They will have excellent attention to detail, good numeracy skills, and the ability to interpret complex data. They will also have extensive IT skills, with working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and a good understanding of data protection issues. The successful candidate will have the proven ability to prioritise and manage their time effectively, and work towards meeting tight deadlines. They will also have good communication skills, with the ability to support others with compliance and preparing for audits. Working for Carers is jointly funded by the European Social Fund and The National Lottery Community Fund as part of the Building Better Opportunities programme. This is a significant but time-limited project, focused on developing and delivering new services for unemployed and economically inactive carers across London. For this reason, this post is offered as a fixed term contract until 30 September 2022.
