Crossroads Care Surrey

For the past 30 years Crossroads Care Surrey has been the leading provider of respite breaks to unpaid Carers in Surrey. We currently support 2,000 Carers by providing professional Carer Support Workers to take over their caring responsibility. We provide high-quality, bespoke care for your loved one in their own home and where possible, we aim to send the same Carer Support Worker to each visit, providing continuity of care and emotional support.

Our respite care service, which is primarily funded by Surrey County Council and the NHS, provides carers with a three hour weekly respite break. This usually takes place on the same day and at the same time each week. We try to ensure that the same Carer Support Worker (CSW) attends each visit so that the family gets to know them and in turn the CSW has a clear understanding of the family’s needs.

We can also provide self-funded care packeages and the support required at end of life.

A carer is someone of any age who provides unpaid support to family or friends who could not manage without this help. This could be caring for a relative, partner or friend who is ill, frail, disabled or has mental health or substance misuse problems.

Carers may even be juggling paid work with their unpaid caring responsibilities at home. The term carer should not be confused with a care worker, or care assistant, who receives payment for looking after someone.

If you are a carer, your local Crossroads Care scheme can offer you support. Our core service sees a trained carer support worker coming into the home to take over the caring responsibilities. Each local scheme is an independent charity, which has its own funding streams and is therefore able to provide additional services according to funding and demand at a local level.
