Speaking in response to Jeremy Corbyn’s announcement today that Labour would increase carers allowance by 17%, Gail Scott-Spicer, CEO of Carers Trust, said:
“An increase in the carer’s allowance can’t come soon enough and would acknowledge the contribution unpaid carers make to society.
“It’s also important that all parties develop policies that commit to making a genuine and long-lasting difference to carers’ health and wellbeing, and to the local services that support carers.
