Young carer services within our network can help you access Carers Trust grants for things like laptops, driving lessons or courses. They can also offer the chance to get a break from your caring responsibilities so you can connect with other young carers who are going through a similar experience to you.
Brooke, a 13-year-old young carer from Scotland, said signing up to her local carer centre was “the best decision of her life”. In just one year, Brooke went from suffering from anxiety and being bullied at school to “relaxing more and more and just becoming a much happier person”.
“It meant I could be myself and no one could judge me because all the other young people there are going through similar experiences,” she said.
