Carers Trust thanks all those who joined us on 4 December 2018 for our Christmas Carol Concert, celebrating the contribution that carers make.

Concert in church

Carers Trust was delighted to welcome TV Presenter Gabby Logan and acclaimed actors Timothy West and Anthony Andrews to our Christmas drinks reception and Carol Concert.

The wonderful City of London Choir, led in spirited style by its Director Hilary Davan Wetton, performed a beautiful programme of seasonal music and carols and was joined by a carers choir from Northamptonshire Carers (a local Carers Trust  service) which sang a specially composed piece about being a carer: ‘It could be me or you’.

Our audience was entertained by Tim West’s highly amusing reading, and moved by the thought-provoking piece chosen by Anthony Andrews,  describing Christmas in the trenches in World War II.

We also heard from 12-year-old young carer, Abbie Major, about her involvement in caring for her father, who started to lose his sight when she was seven years old.

CLC World Resorts & Hotels sponsors of the Carers Trust Christmas ConcertThe evening raised more than £21,000. Thanks to generous sponsorship of the concert by CLC World Resorts & Hotels, and sponsorship of the drinks by the BGL Group, all profits will support our work for unpaid carers.

We hope to see you all again in December 2019 for our next Christmas carol concert!
