Carers Trust was selected to be one of Deloitte’s charity partners as part of its new social impact strategy One Million Futures.

Fantastic fundraising from Deloitte staff

One Million Futures aims to have a positive impact on the futures of one million people over five years, by supporting them to get to where they want to be; whether it’s in the classroom, the workplace or the boardroom. And the amazing staff at Deloitte have thrown themselves into fundraising for Carers Trust.

I’m incredibly proud to support the Working for Carers programme. Anyone could find themselves caring and many have to manage this responsibility alongside a job. Carers Trust works hard to make it as easy as possible and to break down the barriers to employment.”

Jess from Deloitte

Three people from Deloitte took part in the Deloitte Ride Across Britain (RAB) to raise money for Carers Trust. From 9–17 September, they joined over 150 colleagues on an incredible 972 mile challenge, cycling from Land's End to John O'Groats.

The riders were supporting Carers Trust’s Working for Carers programme to help some of London’s 689,000 unpaid carers and former carers get back into employment. They've helped to raise money for a dedicated grants fund to support  unemployed carers back into the workplace in jobs that are sensitive to their caring responsibilities.

Nick and Angus We’re grateful to Angus, Kate and Nick who completed the challenge and also to Jess and Emma who unfortunately couldn’t take part but trained hard and contributed to the incredible fundraising result – over £10,000 raised including Gift Aid and match-funding.

Huge thanks to our brave Deloitte fundraisers! Completing this incredible challenge will make a massive difference to the countless unpaid carers who are working tirelessly to ensure their family and friends have the best quality of life possible. We really do appreciate your effort.”

This really was the most amazing thing I have ever done and probably will ever do, that I would recommend to anyone. The comradeship and ‘RAB bubble’ alone is worth signing up for!  Don’t let anyone tell you it’s easy but let no-one tell you it’s not worth it."
