The strategy aims to have a positive impact on the future of one million people over five years, by supporting them to get to where they want to be; whether it’s in the classroom, the workplace or the boardroom.
Since 2016, employees from the Internal Client Services team in London have raised over £87,000, supporting over 500 unpaid carers in their journey back to employment. Have a look at some of the key highlights of the partnership.
Fantastic fundraising from Deloitte staff
Since the partnership started, Deloitte Internal Clients Services employees have gone above and beyond to raise money for unpaid carers. This included bake sales, no shave November, Tough Mudders, half-marathons … as well as the annual Ride Across Britain.
In September 2018, 11 people from Deloitte Internal Clients Services also took part in several international challenges, including the Great Glen Way Challenge, Stok Kangri Climb, Mount Toubkal Climb and Mount Kilimanjaro Climb to raise money for Carers Trust. They joined hundreds of colleagues on these gruelling challenges that tested them physically and mentally, but they came out of it with a fantastic sense of achievement.

Making a difference through volunteering
Aside from fundraising, employees from Deloitte have made a difference to staff from The Carers Trust Network and carers by sharing their skills through employee-led workshops.
One session, led by a team of HR specialists, offered carers from across London a day-long workshop focussing on employability skills, helping to support our Working for Carers programme. The day covered CV and application skills, how to navigate the job market, interview tips and the opportunity for carers to practice their interview skills and have their CV reviewed by a Deloitte HR specialist.
Other sessions for staff from The Carers TrustNetwork included training on coaching skills, public speaking and project management – upskilling staff and enabling improved services for carers.
Despite the partnership finishing in May 2019, it will have a lasting impact for years to come.
