Unpaid carers from underrepresented communities
This module focuses on the identification of unpaid carers from underrepresented communities. It highlights the unique experiences of different groups including black and ethnic minority groups, LGBTQIA+, gypsy, roma and traveller groups. The module emphasises how barriers such as cultural norms, language, family structures, external prejudice and discrimination, lack of trust and age can impact how unpaid carers from these communities access support and engage with health care professionals.
