Give carers a break - join the carers’ protest from home

We know carers are hardly ever able to take a break. So how could carers possibly take time out to protest for their rights?

We’re giving carers the chance to protest from their own home. We’re collecting photos taken by carers at home, and projecting them onto screens in Parliament Square on Tuesday 22nd July.

We’re calling on the UK Government to make respite breaks for carers a legal right. So we’re asking carers to take a photo, holding up a sign or placard that shows the one thing they’d like to do if they were given a proper break.

How can you get involved
  • Make a placard – on paper, cardboard, anything – and write the one thing you’d most like to do if you had time for a proper break (ideally under 10 words)
  • Take a landscape photo of yourself in your home holding this placard, like in the examples above

Remember to make sure it’s just you in the photo, don’t swear on your placard or include people’s names, and avoid wearing something with a visible logo.

Please send us your photos by Monday 14th July 10am via this link

If you’re struggling with the form in the link above, please email your photo to: carersvideos@uncommon.studio
