Changing the way we talk about care

The way we talk about unpaid care needs to change. Right now, with carers under ever-increasing pressure and support being squeezed from all sides, people don’t see change as possible.
When they think about becoming carers, they see a problem too big to solve. But there is a better way.
Research supported by Carers Trust, Oxfam UK and Health Foundation shows that by changing the way we speak about care we can change the narrative and show people that it’s about fairness, and a system that supports all of us.
Our research report lays out the current narrative and how qualitative and quantitative research show the potential for new ways of talking about care to break through and create a new sense of positivity and action.
Our framing guide shows how you can start using the three core principles to show people the value of supporting carers by building a system that works for everybody.
