It will check your risk of getting vascular disease, such as high blood pressure, heart disease or type 2 diabetes. The NHS health check is an opportunity to spot these early and prevent them if possible. After the check you will be able to speak to someone about the results and get advice and support.
You will get a letter from your GP inviting you for the free check, this might not happen straight away so here are few other ways to check your health:
- Check your heart age – if you are over 30 you can use this tool to find out if your heart age is higher or lower than your actual age.
- Try one using a health and fitness tracker.
