Free Training for GP Cluster Staff: Understanding the Needs of Older Carers in Wales

CymraegEnglish

Offered by Age Cymru and Carers Trust Wales, funded by Welsh Government

We are excited to announce free awareness-raising sessions designed to help staff working in and with GP clusters across Wales understand and support the unique and often complex needs of older carers.

What you’ll gain
  • A deeper understanding of the lived experiences, rights, and challenges faced by older carers
  • Tools to better identify older carers within community and primary healthcare settings, enabling earlier signposting and referrals to vital information, advice and support services that enhance their wellbeing.
  • Enhanced communication skills to foster stronger relationships with older carers, ensuring they receive the guidance they need and are aware of their rights.

Why attend?

Older unpaid carers play a crucial role in supporting the people they care for, but their own needs are often overlooked by both professionals and older carers themselves.

By participating in this training, you’ll be equipped to make a real difference in their lives, helping to ensure they receive their rights and support.

Who should attend?

This training is ideal for GP cluster staff and anyone working or volunteering alongside primary care providers in communities across Wales.
