Our Impact Report 2023/4: Hear the stories of carers we’ve supported this year

Carers Trust Impact Report 2024 - Supporting carers today, building for tomorrow

Over the course of 2023/2024, we have reached 1.1 million carers across the UK, thanks to our network of 130 local carer centres, covering four fifths of local authority areas in the UK.

Our work supported carers like Steve, who has spent 23 years caring for his parents. He faced challenges like not being able to afford a new washing machine until he applied for and secured one of our Carers Funds grants, with the support of his local carers centre, Carers First.

This provided him with much-needed financial support at a time where he was broke. Stories like his demonstrate the real-life impact of our work.

Our mission over the next year is built on three main themes: ending carer poverty, stopping carers being pushed to the limit and ensuring a fair future for young carers. This will help secure access to the vital support carers need.

Through programmes such as the Short Breaks Scheme in Wales, we provide time away for carers to recharge, so they can continue their critical role without burning out.

The support through our network makes a real difference in carers' lives. Young carer Brooke said it was "the best decision of my life" to join Falkirk & Clackmannanshire Carers Centre.

We are committed to building a future where carers are recognised, valued, and supported. Watch our Impact Report film to hear first-hand how we are having a direct impact in the lives of carers across the UK.

Through our network of local carer centres, we will work together for a fairer future for all carers. Thank you to all our supporters for helping to transform the lives of carers.
