Please read if your a driver

I recently received this email and thought I should pass it onto everyone I possibly can as it can so easily happen to anyone of us

Notice on car (not a joke)

Just last weekend on Friday night we parked in a public parking area.

As we drove away I noticed a sticker on the rear window of the car.

When I took it off after I got home, it was a receipt for petrol. Luckily my friend told me not to stop as it could be

someone waiting for me to get out of the car. Then we received this email yesterday:

'WARNING FROM POLICE BEWARE OF PAPER ON THE BACK WINDOW OF YOUR VEHICLE --

NEW WAY TO DO CAR JACKINGS (NOT A JOKE)'

.. You walk across the car parking , unlock your car and get inside. You start the engine and shift into Reverse.

When you look into the rearview mirror to back out of your parking space, you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle

of the rear window. So, you shift into neutral, unlock your doors, and jump out of your car to remove that paper (or

whatever it is) that is obstructing your view. When you reach the back of your car, that is when the carjackers appear out

of nowhere, jump into your car and take off. They practically mow you down as they speed off in your car.

And guess what, ladies? I bet your purse is still in the car.

So now the carjacker has your car, your home address, your money, and your keys. Your home and your whole identity are

now compromised!

BEWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME THAT IS NOW BEING USED.

If you see a piece of paper stuck to your back window, just drive away. Remove the paper later.

And be thankful that you read this e-mail.

I hope you will forward this to friends and family, especially to women. A purse contains all kinds of personal information

and identification d o cuments, and you certainly do NOT want this to fall into the wrong hands.

Please pass this on.

you know it is so scary now tricia. I wont even walk anywhere in the dark now. If i do, i practically leg it to whereever i have got to go. I wont park in multi storey car parks at night either. I try to park somewhere where it is well lit and there are people about. I dont carry my bag on my shoulder anymore i put it across my body. I try to pick up other daughter on her way home from school, especially if it is dark. She complains like there is no tommorow but i dont care. I went potty at her a few months back cos she took a short cut down a country lane!! She is 13, thinks she knows it all. But i see the dangers and pitfalls and whilst i am not trying to terrify the poor girl, i just want to keep her safe. Same goes for my son. He is 18 and regularly goes jogging down that particular country lane. I tell him that there are all sorts of weirdos out there and i dont really like him jogging down that lane. He just looks at me and tuts!! Blink emoticon Blink emoticon

I can fully understand where your coming from loopy.

My son works in a pub in the evenings but is about to leave as he has a day time job. How many nights I have had waiting for him to return home as he has to lock up and then crosses a grass area which when I was his age I would not of thought twice about walking across day or night.

If I go out with friends I won't get a late bus home but we get a taxi from a reputal company to take us all to our doors and they make sure that we get indoors before they pull off.

A friend of mine told me about a female friend who had not locked her car doors and when she sat at traffic lights someone jumped into the passengers seat. The driver was quick thinking and leant over them and made the sounds like they were about to be sick all over them. The person who jumped into the car could not jump out quick enough. I always lock my car doors while driving no matter how short my journey maybe. (They unlock on impact; not that I ever wish to find out!) However, I don't know how I would react should I ever be in that drivers shoes.

I guess I am lucky because where I live the headlines will be "The cow fell over in the field" and people write in complaining to the paper that there is too much traffic cos they stuck behind two cars and a tractor!
But we came from a rough part of Kent (if Kent is the garden of England, we lived in the dustbin down the end of it) and I would worry incessantly over my two girls who were young teenagers and thought they were 'ARD at the time.
We visited recently and got chatting to a couple of old neighbours and it is even worse now, like a war zone. I'm so glad we got out when we did and my girls were able to be 'children' again for a while, camping in farmers fields and us not even thinking about it, and going out without fear of attack.

www.hoax-slayer.com

Summary:
Email forward warns of a new car-jacking scheme in which paper is placed on the back window of parked cars as a ruse to get a driver to leave his or her vehicle so that the thieves can easily steal it (Full commentary below.)

when i was a teenager i was walking to the pub one night. I could hear someone running up behind me and he grabbed me from behind. I screamed as loud as i could and ran my stilleto heel right down his shin. I took my shoes off and legged it. It was some scary stuff i can tell ya. Sad emoticon
