Thu 31 Jul 2008 15:14Sparhawk if no one wants the pc it is allways useful to keep a spare as a back up. All you need to do is to put in your windows XP disc and it will guide you through what to do. This is known as a reinstall all previous settings will be lost. You will not have microsoft office but you can download open office for free,it works just as well. I once had a toshiba,it was my first laptop they are a very good make.

Fri 31 Oct 2008 18:34Miss piggy how old is your son?
If he is under the age of 18 years there are many charity organisations who will supply a computer or a laptop depending upon his needs.
Contact your local carers centre and ask them if they know how to access the fund finder guide book to check out the criteria for applying for a grant. Or contact your local radio station to see if they have give grants for laptops also local newspapers often have a charity grants awards to individuals mostly for children unfortunatly. Also the Family fund but that depends upon your household income
