Have you read about the protest Phil?
There is growing support, especially after the fiasco that is the carers strategy.

well said phil. We should be paid what carers who care for people in a home are paid. After all, isnt that what we are doing?? We are caring for disabled people in our home and therefore we should be paid the minimum wage. I spend half the night watching over my daughter to make sure that she comes to no harm. Perhaps gorden brown and his cronies should come and spend a day with me and see what it is like Angry emoticon

I also work part time and would love to increase my hours. But if i do that then my carers allowance would be stopped and i have worked out that i would be no better off than i am now. So whats the point? If we were all given the minimum wage then life, as you say phil, would be a whole lot easier. Its pathetic and insulting that we have to be grateful for £50 a week.
