HRH The Princess Royal at Pontin's Break for Carers

HRH The Princess Royal, President of The Princess Royal Trust for Carers visited Pontin’s Break for Carers at the Blackpool Holiday Centre on 10th June where over a 1,000 carers and their families from all over the country will be enjoying a free five day break.
During her visit, HRH met many of the carers and saw some of the activities which they enjoyed during their break including a dry ice skating rink, arts and crafts, reflexology, dancing and Captain Croc and Postman Pat shows for the children.
Now in their eighth year, the breaks, supported by Pontin's this year and organised by The Princess Royal Trust for Carers, give carers a well deserved respite break that helped them cope with their caring responsibilities.
HRH was accompanied by the Lord-Lieutenant (The Lord Shuttleworth) and Lady Shuttleworth. During the visit she met The Mayor of Fylde, Cllr Susan Fazackerley and Mayor’s Consort, Mr Matthew Bury; Mr Phil Woodward, Chief Executive of Fylde, Mr Trevor Hemmings Vice President, The Princess Royal Trust for Carers and Mrs Carole Cochrane, Acting Chief Executive, The Princess Royal Trust for Carers, Graham Parr, Executive Chairman Pontin's Holidays, Ian Smith, Chief Executive, Pontin's Holidays and John Parr, Non Executive Director, Pontin's Holidays.
