Can anyone help, my mum is refusing to eat. she's hardly eaten all weekend and all i've managed to give her is Lucozade. I will contact the G.P tomorrow but does anyone have experience of this that can advise me i'm so worried. She has a water infection at the moment and is on her 3rd lot of antibiotics but is very confused.

Re: Diabetic mum not eating
Sun 6 Jan 2008 18:46Hello maggie
I have not had any experience recently regarding diabetes, however my little sister did go into a diabetic coma and never recovered when I was five years old so am aware of the worries of someone caring for someone with diabetes.
Have you looked up on the diabetes UK website which is
www.diabetes.org.uk
They may have some advice which may help. Also ask your GP if they have a diabetic nurse who you can contact for advice.
I am sorry I am unable to give you advice which would encourage your mother to eat regular but hope the web site may be of help.

Re: Diabetic mum not eating
Tue 8 Jan 2008 21:46Hi Tricia, thanks for the message. The Doctor came to see mum yesterday and 2 hours later she was admitted to hospital. I'm relieved in a way as she is eating better and hopefully soon we'll know exactly what the problem is. They have done some tests and are awaiting the results.
Thanks again, Maggie
