hi Donna,
my two youngest have fragile x syndrome, also autism, and younger of the two has tourettes/adhd/ and heart murmur too, also epilepsy.
my youngest daughter has mild aspergers traits which basically mean she is a pain in the ar*s. she 17.

a good book to read is the 'curious incident of the dog in the nighttime' by mark haddon.
I paid about £17 but you can get it for about a fiver now,

you started well by coming on this site as i know others have kids with aspergers so theyll be able to help you more.

Hello Donna

If you are able to contact the National Autistic Society they hold some HELP training courses for parent/carers of children who have been newly diagnosed with ASD.

I recently signposted a parent to a course and a few weeks into the course she rang me to say she could not thank me enough as the course was absolutely fantanstic and provided her with information which has helped her to understand her child. It also give her an opportunity to meet other parent/carers in similar circumstances who she says she will love to keep in contact with to have on going support from others in similar circumstances

Hi Donna

My 11 year old son has ASD and moderate learning difficulties along with various other stuff!

I agree with Tricia - if you contact the National Autistic Society they have various information services including a parent to parent line and an education advice service.

They also have a wide range of books and information leaflets, which I found very useful when my son was diagnosed just over 2 years ago.

Take care Smile emoticon

Hello

My little boy is autistic and is 8 years old. He was diagnosed when he was 2.5 yrs old. He goes to a special school for autistic children and the difference in him is amazing.

The national autistic society will also have information on local groups as well.

Take care
