Re: Hello new to this site
Fri 5 Feb 2010 19:37Welcome to you Susie, we seem to be getting lots of new members over the last couple of days or so which is brilliant.
There are plenty of people on here who are able to give you good advice should you need it. Don't hesitate to put any posts on the board if you require any help.
You can also pop into the chatroom for a chat with other carers. There is usually somebody in from about 10pm any evening or from about 2.30pm on a weekday afternoon.
Look forward to catching you in chat if you are able to get in.
Hal

Sat 6 Feb 2010 01:20Hi Susie, welcome to carers -otherwise known as the madhouse!!! Sometimes you can find practical and hopefully useful advice, other times you can let off steam or have a laugh.
I care for my husnad who is Paraplegic and our grown up sons who are Autistic so I need plenty of all three!!!
Please say hello to Hal in the chatroom at 2.30 one day or he gets lonely! You need Java to get in!
Take care x

Tue 2 Mar 2010 08:09Hi Susie ,
A warm welcome to this site where you will meet some wonderful people. You will gain knowledge, support, maybe have a few tears but hopefully a lot of joy and smiles along the way. x
I too care for my husband who had to retire early. He has Alzheimers.
We moved to Mallorca ~ which was always our plan, just had to bring it all forward a few years! The hardest thing for me is feeling lonely and I come on here to spend time with all my friends.
Look forward to meeting you again soon.x
Take care ((((((hugs))))))

Re: Hello new to this site
Tue 2 Mar 2010 09:01Hi Susie55,
I am from Oz, so practical help from across the stretch really isn't my specialty...but I have found all the people here to be wonderful support, and lovely people. I too like many of the others here come on to find kinship, and support.....a bit of "me" time in a rather hectic day.
We all hope to help support you on your rollecoaster of medical and social services, that sometimes seem to be all too much.
(((((((Hugs)))))
Amanda
