How long a wait dla

Once the Dla forms have been sent off, does anyone have any idea how long it takes on average before they are processed and you hear anything. I've been told it's about 3 months.. is this true?

they do like to drag their feet a little bit. But what i did was, i sent my forms off and left it for a couple of weeks and then i called them to see how far they had got processing my daughters application. They will then be able to give you an idea of how long it is going to take. BUT..... you need to then maybe phone them once a week, basically to make sure they are pulling their finger out !! If you are awarded it , they will back date it to the day that they received your application form (i think).

Fri 3 Oct 2008 11:49When you got the form it should have been date stamped. If you are awarded DLA it will be back-dated to that date
