we have just come back from a shopping trip with our daughter. In one of the shops, she couldn't decide what comic to have. The bloke behind us was tutting huffing and sighing. My hubby turned round and said "do you have asthma?" to which man replied "no". Hubby said "well you seem to be doing alot of huffing and puffing"..... Laugh emoticon

Hi Loopy
Well done to your husband for saying what he did!!
There are a lot of ignorant pigs around who need taking down a peg or two or three. If anyone keeps staring at my Daughter I usually ask if they would like a photo of her.

Ooh, I'm so sorry - right after I posted that I realized it might be an abbreviation only used here in the States, not in the UK. Yes, rolling on the floor laughing is correct. Big grin emoticon

I was at the checkout of local supermarket, my son would have been 8 at the time, he spotted some chocolate biscuits on the belt at checkout of lady next to us (we were being served at the time) he was signing please - so the lady opened a packet of penguins and GAVE HIM ONE!! well i was mortified, i dashed over and said, please dont do that he is way to old to go begging stuff off people, he is 8 year old! she replied how sorry she was and that she thought he was just a toddler, she didnt realise he was so old, then said awwwwwww bless, was he born like that?
WHOOPS, that was sooooo not the right response to one stressed out mum! no i snapped back, he was born a baby!!! and marched off with one child in tow, poor woman was mortified, she really didnt ask for that, and i very rarely do stuff like that, but it was just the limit to a really bad day with my little angel!!!

Just read your message & your husbands remark made me smile. Wish I could think of things so say, but unfortunately I'm one of those troubled with after thought.

That's my problem too Aztec, I can never think of what to say and clam up. Perhaps silence and ignoring is the easy way out? Just want a quiet life without the hastle. Yes emoticon

Our son, who is 16 now, handles them himself really well - he starts acting really "mental" like pulling weird faces at them or eating his food in a really rude way and eyeballing them for longer than they can bear. Has also been known to deliberately fart up close. They usually spot us creased up with laughter and beat a hasty retreat! After years of having to blinker ourselves to other people when they are like this it feels good that he can fight back. Yes emoticon
