Comic Relief Grants 2006-2007
The Princess Royal Trust for Carers was appointed by Comic Relief in March 2006 to manage a £1 million Grants Programme for the development of services for the most vulnerable and hidden young carers.
The Grants Programme’s aim was to provide high quality direct support to the most vulnerable by prioritising project which seek to identify and support those young carers who are hard to reach or are from under represented communities such as ethnic minority or refugee communities.
There were two Grant Programmes – the Large Grants Programme which gave sums of up to £25,000 per year over three years for innovative projects which not only support young carers but which will also generate learning about new ways to reach them; and the Small Grants Programme which would make awards up to £2,000 for the support of individual young carers.
The final round of awards was made in April 2007.
